Mini Coupe star of Frankfurt Motor Show.

Mini’s Coupe will be the star of the brand’s Frankfurt motor show as the two-seater makes its world public debut next week.
The distinctively designed sports car’s roof is said to have been modelled on a backwards facing baseball cap, and retains much of the look of the concept car that made its debut at the last Frankfurt show two years ago.

It will be available with four different engine options from launch, with the 208bhp John Cooper Works sitting on top of the range.

Mini says the ‘three-box structure’ of the Coupe, brought about by that funky baseball cap styling, means that this is actually one of the most spacious cars it makes. The luggage space, at 280 litres, is bigger than the Clubman estate (which has just 260 litres), although the Coupe is aided in this quest for practicality by the lack of rear seats.

As well as the new Coupe, the company will be showing off the Mini Yours range of options that allow the owner to personalise their car. An illustration of what is possible with this will come from the Mini Inspired by Goodwood, a hatchback that comes with a host of different add-ons.

Mini Yours includes the likes of unusual paint finishes, trim elements, upholstery variants and interior colours, and also a selection of equipment packages.

The new Original Mini Accessories range will also be launched at the show. This will include steering wheels, gearshift knobs, interior trim strips and other retro-fit components for the interior.
