Upcoming Must-See Events, Plus Registered Donor Updates

Back in 2007, Mike Peters and James Chippendale, both whom are leukemia survivors, started Love Hope Strength. Mike is from the Welsh rock band The Alarm and James is the president of Ascend Insurance Brokerage. The two had a dream to find bone marrow matches, by incorporating their love for rock music with the need for help.

Now eight years later, Love Hope Strength is the world’s leading rock ’n’ roll cancer foundation by partnering with concerts and events to tell people about the organization and get people signed up to “Get on the List.” As of today, Love Hope Strength has 98,606 registered donors and 1,570 matches. It’s very unique to find matches, so it’s amazing that LHS has helped save over 1,500 lives.

At the end of January, Schomp MINI reported the LHS had 89,841 registered donors and 1,364 matches, making there be almost 10,000 more registered donors and over 200 matches since then! LHS is doing amazing work in the community, along with hosting awesome events. Save the date for LHS’ Red Rocks Hike & Jam, which will take place on September 26.
