Schomp MINI Wants to Hear Your Safe Driving Tips For Winter!
They might be smaller than an SUV, but MINIs are one of the best cars you can drive in the winter. Burton Colorado loves driving its MINI Countryman to and from the mountains all winter – and they even pass up SUVs on the road!
But no matter what car you’re driving this winter, it’s important to drive safely. What are your favorite safe driving tips? We’d love to hear from you. Whether it’s tips specifically for driving MINIs in the snow or general safe driving tips, tell us on the Schomp MINI Facebook page.
Here are a few of our safe driving tips for the winter ahead:
1. Maintain a safe distance
Even when there isn’t visible snow on the road, our Colorado roads have a lot of black ice on them all winter long. To make sure you don’t slide into the car in front or to the side of you, make sure you have a safe distance between your MINI and the cars around you. This will give you more time to stop in the case of traffic ahead.
2. Anticipate what’s ahead of you.
Now that you’re allowing your MINI distance from cars ahead and to the side of you, it’s still important to keep your eyes on the road and watch what’s ahead. There are many accidents during the winter season, plus Colorado has a lot of traffic nowadays. You never know when you’ll have to step on your brakes for what’s ahead.
Eliminate distractions.
It’s easy to get distracted by what’s inside your MINI. Whether you’re playing with your phone, grabbing something from the backseat or you have kids in the car that want your attention, lessening these distractions is a must for winter. Make sure that you can give your full attention to driving this season.
