Summertime in Colorado means beautiful weather, road trips in the MINI and endless fun in the city. With live music festivals, farmer’s markets and events happening every weekend, there’s no better time than now to get out and explore this summer.
For the second year in a row, one of the coolest and creative events is being offered in Curtis Park: TheBigWonderful. This event takes place every Saturday and brings together families, friends and those looking to experience the culture of Denver.
This year’s TheBigWonderful started in early May. The idea came from Josh Sampson, who is now collecting endless compliments on this extraordinary idea. The concept is basically a collection of food vendors, flea finds and entertainment, all in one. From noon until 7:30 p.m. every Saturday, you can shop, dine and sit back and relax local music from some awesome up-and-coming artists.
The lineup for the next two weekends is all about pure funk. TheBigWonderful put together some pretty cool lineups that are sure to entertain. Coming up this weekend on Saturday, June 13th is Gogo Lab, The Workshy, Genetics and Booster. Then rounding out the night will be local act Rob Drabkin. This last summer, Schomp MINI caught up with Rob Drabkin about his music. He’s got soul and we love seeing him perform. Then on Saturday, June 20, Hot Soup and Mama Mognolia will take the stage.
Other features of this event include an outdoor craft beed garden, which is built out of a storage container. There’s also beach volleyball, an urban farm, full stage and much more. Support small businesses but hanging out at the place to be this summer: TheBigWonderful.
