This Little MINI Cooper SE All-Electric Car Is a Big “Greener” Choice

The little car with the go-kart handling has joined the green trend. The 2024 MINI Cooper S now gets an “E” on the end, signifying it’s all electric. Now the 2024 MINI Cooper SE has earned a spot on a list of 14 “Greener” cars published by GreenerCars.org and compiled with ratings from the American Council for an Energy-Efficient Economy (ACEEE).

The ACEEE surveys every new so-called “light-duty” vehicle and ranks them based on how much greenhouse gases and other tailpipe pollutants they emit as well as the pollution that comes from production, use and disposal, plus fuel consumption, of course.

The 2024 MINI Cooper SE performed well in their assessments, landing on the “Greener” list of 14. The SE earned a Green Score of 67 points with an annual estimated fuel cost of just $747, based on an estimated annual 15,000 miles driven. Combine that with a starting MSRP of $30,900 and everything that makes it a true MINI and you’ve got a pretty attractive package: electric and electrifying!

The 2-door hardtop 2024 MINI Cooper SE sports 181 horsepower and does zero-60 mph in 6.9 seconds. It has an estimated range of 114 miles, charges to 80% of capacity in 36 minutes at 50 kW and is eligible for some nice Colorado tax credits.

MINI’s standard Active Driving Assistant comes with collision warning and automatic emergency braking. Also standard are Lane Departure Warning and Adaptive Cruise Control, and complimentary Roadside Assistance for four years. But there’s more: Apple CarPlay® and a free one-year Sirius XM Platinum Plan subscription.

But the most important thing to know about this MINI Cooper SE is that, while a “Greener” choice, it still drives like a MINI: nimble, in touch with the road and ready to get you where you need to go with the maximum amount of fun.
