2018 JD Power Performance Award Small SUV

The Countryman received a perfect ten out of ten score, winning all five out of five “Power Circle Ratings" categories. The MINI Countryman beat the competition to win the 2018 J.D. Power Performance Award for Small SUVs. The award’s full name is J.D. Power Automotive Performance, Execution, and Layout Study. It “measures what new-vehicle owners like the most and the least about their new cars, trucks, SUVs, and vans. Survey respondents have owned their new vehicles for at least 90 days, and share their opinions about the design, interior layout, and performance of the vehicles.”

Top Rated Luxury Entry-Level Sport Utility Vehicle

The 2019 MINI Countryman topped Consumer Reports list of Luxury Entry-Level Sport Utility Vehicles, besting some of Europe and Japan’s most recognizable names. With an overall score of 78 – two points higher than the next competitor – and a Road Test Score of 82 – five points higher – the MINI Countryman crushed it. And did so more economically than all but one of 10 other serious competitors in its class.

Don’t be confused by the size and image, when it comes to competition MINI models hold their own compared to competing vehicles in their respective segments. At MINI, it’s all about relationships

Some manufacturers and dealers go for volume, working as hard as possible to push more cars out to the masses. At Schomp MINI, we go for relationships. We remember that owning a vehicle is an experience and this is a people business. And we make friends along the way.

We know that people want to be treated with respect. They want to trust their car dealer. And they want to be recognized for their individuality. At Schomp MINI, we thrive on uniqueness. We encourage it. That’s why MINI owners reported having the best car buying experiences among mass-market brands in the United States.

The J.D. Power’s U.S. Sales Satisfaction Index Award analyzes what car buyers think of their overall car purchases. It measures what people liked about the car buying process at the dealership where they purchased, and what they didn’t like about the manufacturers and dealerships where they shopped but did not buy. They broke the ranking down into two categories: Buyer satisfaction and Rejector satisfaction.

Buyer satisfaction is based on

  • Dealer personnel
  • Delivery process
  • Working out the deal
  • Paperwork completion
  • Dealership facility
  • Dealership website

Rejector satisfaction is based on

  • Salesperson
  • Fairness of price
  • Experience negotiating
  • Paperwork completion
  • Variety of inventory
  • Dealership facility
